Birthday cakes

One of my favorite cakes that I have made was this one for my husbands Granddaughter (I don't want to sound so old).

I baked this cake for her 1st birthday. Everything is made from homemade butter cream icing.

8 inch heart shaped cake with a shell border. The top is decocated with roses I had made.

The sides of the cake has pink dots.

I also made cakes for my nephew's birthdays.

For this cake I surrounded the sides with small stars. This is a spice cake with colored cream chesse frosting. I think it is important to keep complimenting flavors between the frosting, the cake and the filling. In this cake I used the frosting as a filling.

He was turning sixteen, I like to think that each candle represents two. That way everything is mathematically correct.

A little extra sparkle was added to this cake by adding glitter gel in the name.

This is a basic yellow cake with a homemade raspberry filling. The frosting is homemade buttercream just like the first one.

This cake is white with blue shells around the edge and evenly placed stars on the sides. The name is also in glitter gel. My nephew was turning 5 so the candles actually repressent one in this pictures.
